RedMagic 11 Pro Review: Maximum Power at a “Minimum” Price

RedMagic is back to doing what it does best bringing raw performance to the gaming phone scene before anyone else. The RedMagic 11 Pro is the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and once again, it’s pushing the limits of what mobile gaming hardware can do all at a surprisingly accessible price.

Let’s dive into the full review and see how this beast performs.

What’s in the Box

Inside the box, you’ll find a red USB-C cable, a semi-transparent protective case, and in our test unit a charger (though the retail package might skip it). The included case is sturdy but hides some of the device’s design magic, especially the transparent version that reveals the internal cooling system.

Design and Build: Sleek, Sharp, and Flat

The RedMagic 11 Pro stays true to its signature flat and industrial design. Both the front and back surfaces are completely flat, with no protruding cameras or display cutouts. The aluminum frame sits perfectly between two sheets of Gorilla Glass (version unspecified).

It’s a chunky, unapologetically rectangular slab and while that means it’s not the lightest at 230 grams, the symmetry and balance make it a joy to hold. On a table, it lies perfectly flat a rare and oddly satisfying trait in 2025.

The transparent variant remains the star, showing off internal components like the RGB-lit cooling fan and the liquid cooling channels. Despite its gaming flair, it now also offers IPx8 water resistance, marking a first for the RedMagic series.

Hardware and Performance: The Powerhouse Returns

When it comes to specs, RedMagic never pulls punches. The 11 Pro is the first to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 built on a 3nm process, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU and the brand’s RedCore R4 co-processor.

RAM options go up to a mind-blowing 24GB LPDDR5T, and storage hits 1TB UFS 4.1 Pro speeds both firsts in their class.

Cooling is where the engineering flex continues. The phone uses a 13,116 mm² vapor chamber, an active side fan, and for the first time a true liquid cooling system visible through the transparent shell. Even under extended gaming sessions, the device remains impressively cool.

Connectivity also checks all the right boxes: 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C 3.2 video output, and yes a 3.5mm headphone jack is still here.

Gamers will appreciate the 520Hz touch triggers on the shoulders and stereo speakers that deliver deep, balanced sound.

Simply put: no phone on the market right now feels faster.

Camera: Serviceable, But Still Secondary

Cameras have never been RedMagic’s strong suit, and while there’s modest improvement this year, they still lag behind flagship competition.

Daylight shots are decent, with solid color reproduction, but dynamic range struggles blown highlights and uneven lighting are still an issue.

Video maxes out at 4K 60fps, but stabilization and sharpness are just average. You’ll get smoother results in Full HD.

The 16MP under-display selfie camera is perhaps the weakest link. It’s convenient for a full-screen experience but offers only basic quality fine for video calls, not much else.

Display: Seamless and Stunning

This is where the RedMagic 11 Pro truly shines. The 6.85-inch AMOLED display (1,216 × 2,688 pixels) delivers rich colors, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a touch sampling rate of 3,000Hz perfect for competitive gaming.

Brightness peaks at 1,800 nits, making it visible even under direct sunlight. What’s most impressive is its completely uninterrupted panel no punch-hole, no notch, no bezels. Watching videos or gaming feels incredibly immersive.

It’s the cleanest, most futuristic screen you’ll find on a phone this year.

Software: Focused on Gamers

Running RedMagic OS 11 (Android 16), the interface feels familiar but lightly tweaked. General usability remains smooth, though the software still lacks polish compared to Samsung or Google.

The standout feature is the dedicated gaming mode, activated via the physical red switch on the side. Once inside, you can customize per-game performance settings, map triggers, record sessions, or use AI-assisted tools that automate in-game actions like picking up items automatically.

It’s a gamer’s dream toolkit, though casual users might find the overall system a bit too focused on play over productivity.

Battery Life: Massive Power Reserve

Battery life is nothing short of extraordinary. The 7,500mAh silicon-carbon cell delivers full-day endurance with ease even with several gaming sessions thrown in.

Charging is equally impressive: 80W wired and, for the first time, 80W wireless charging. The liquid cooling helps sustain high charge speeds without overheating.

This is one of the largest and fastest-charging batteries ever fitted into a gaming phone.

Price and Verdict

Despite the bleeding-edge hardware, RedMagic continues to undercut the competition.

These prices make it one of the best value propositions in the high-end market, especially for power users and gamers.

✅ Verdict: A Gaming Monster with Few Compromises

The RedMagic 11 Pro once again redefines what “performance per euro” means. It’s blisteringly fast, visually stunning, and intelligently cooled all for less than what most flagships charge.

Yes, the software still needs polish, and the cameras are far from elite. But for gaming and raw performance, nothing else even comes close.

Red Magic 11 Pro

The RedMagic 11 Pro is the most powerful smartphone available, thanks not only to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, but also to its RAM and storage. It also offers special features for those seeking maximum performance and who love gaming, such as shoulder triggers, various active cooling systems (including the new liquid cooling), and numerous settings for "cheating" in games. All this at a lower price than its competitors (current and likely future). There are some obvious compromises, but if you're looking for performance, you might be willing to accept them.
