iPhone Air VS Galaxy Edge: What is the best ultra-fine smartphone?

Apple has just presented this Tuesday an innovative, ultra-fine smartphone: the iPhone Air. Only 5.6 mm from one edge to another. A very interesting product, in more than one title, but the iPhone Air is not the first to have such a technical sheet.

Apple’s historic competitor, Samsung, also offers an ultra-fine phone. The Korean firm has been mailing the Galaxy Edge for several months. By scanning their technical sheets we discover some differences between these two models. Which one should choose? Answer at the end of the article.

A size duel

Apple and Samsung focused their communication on the size, and more precisely the thickness, of their smartphones. The Cupertino firm won this first battle. With its iPhone air it drops to 5.6 millimeters thick. Samsung stops 5.8 with its Galaxy Edge.

Regarding the screen, Apple relies on a 6.5 -inch OLED slab. Samsung is more generous with A 6.7 -inch screen in Amoled. The pixel density is slightly better at Samsung, with 500 ppp (pixels per inch) against 444 on the side of Apple.

Photo and battery: Samsung advantage?

Looking below in the technical sheet of iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy Edge we discover important differences. The first concerns photo sensors. Samsung offers 2 where Apple is limited to a single “Fusion camera” of 48 MP.

The other big difference is to be found on the side of the battery. Apple is limited to 3149 mAh. Samsung on its side manages to reach 3900 mAh. It remains to be seen during tests if this greater battery will bring better autonomy. Nothing less sure. Our opinion

Finally, you have to choose an iPhone air or a galaxy edge. Despite clear differences, the two smartphones are actually very close to each other. It is ultimately their bone that will make all the difference. If you already have Apple devices and are well installed in the apple ecosystem, then the iPhone Air is a good solution.

If on the other hand you want to try the Android adventure or you are an aficionados of Samsung, the Galaxy Edge is the right choice for you. Everything will then depend on your uses. The Galaxy Edge seems to take a step ahead of the photo, with two high -end sensors against one on the iPhone Air.
